City Kitty Cafe ReBrand & Website

View this presentation for a sample of my design and wire-framing process. You can find the final website by clicking the button above or viewing the mockups below.

For this project, I had create our own business or brand based off of an existing one. I chose Windy Kitty Cafe, a local cat cafe, to serve as inspiration for this project.

When creating this logo, I knew I wanted to combine the concepts of a cafe and cats, just like the business itself did. The color palette are the Chicago Flag colors, staying true to the original business’s branding.

I wanted to website to have a friendly, welcoming, and clean feel, to reflect the values that are important to the brand. Easy to read typefaces, gentle colors, and vibrant photography of cute cats would make using the website a pleasant experience for potential customers, while staying to the brand values.

I created this website completely by hand using HTML, CSS, and a bit of JQuery. It is fully responisve with both mobile and desktop versions of the site.

Alongside typical pages most websites have, an FAQ page seemed important, as not everyone may understand what a cat cafe is. Including a page showing off all of the cute cats the cafe has to offer would help draw customers in.

Note that the images used and information about the City Kitty Cafe brand are not reflective of the original brand - they were simply inspiration for this project. Unfortunately, the original company has closed.

I also created other deliverables to continue fleshing out the brand. Although the main focus of the project was the website, I wanted to ground the brand in the real world too.

I created business cards, social media, t-shirts, and more. I am sad that the original cat cafe is closed, it was such a fun place to visit. I hope that one day we get another one here in Chicago!
